Donna Wilder is a creator of quilted wearable art and wall hangings, but above all she has inspired and
challenged many others through an array of contests, fashion shows and exhibitions sponsored by
Fairfield Processing Company. She assisted this company in acquiring an art quilt collection, which
includes Honoree Yvonne Porcella’s work. As well, Donna has an antique collection of her own, which
was featured in the January/February 1993 Quilter’s Newsletter Magazine in their column “At Home
with Quilts.”

From the time she was a young girl, she knew she wanted to be in retail business and found her niche
at Fairfield Processing Company. She has been a coordinator of quilt block contests with a theme,
such as “The Circus is Coming to Town” and “Quilting Through the Century.” These quilts are a part of
the Fairfield’s Corporate Art Collection. She started the Fairfield Fashion Show in 1979, an invitational
for wearable art, showcasing creative and innovative designs in quilted clothing. For the Great
American Quilt Festival II in New York City, April 1986, Donna coordinated “Liberty, Freedom and
American Heritage,” a collection of wall hangings from each state and two territories.

Donna has participated in judging many quilt shows over the years. She joined Honorees Jeffrey
Gutcheon, Carter Houck and Bonnie Leman in judging “Memories of Childhood Contest” for the Great
American Quilt Festival II. With Bonnie Leman as a guest, she hosted a television series, “Sew
Creative.”
